About The Savvy GPS Pilot™ Seminar

Using GPS is learned on the ground and practiced in the airplane.

-

The Savvy GPS Pilot™ seminar is a 10-hour instructor-led course designed for instrument pilots who want to fully harness the power of their IFR-certified GPS receiver and avoid the gotchas. The course is accepted by the FAA as an industry conducted recurrent training program and satisfies the ground portion of the FAA Wings program.

 -

This course is not designed to simply go over how to push keys and turn knobs; it is designed to teach GPS navigation using a specific GPS receiver in just a few days. Beginning with the basics and progressing to advanced procedures, students become expert users of the GPS receiver covered in the seminar while acquiring working knowledge of the new regulations and TERPS associated with GPS use during instrument operations.

Designed to teach GPS with minimal need for memorization, the course places an emphasis on mastering the GPS's proprietary organization of all the functions. This method allows students to quickly gain a good working knowledge of how to access all  functions and how to navigate within the unit easily. This is the foundation to mastering the use of GPS receivers.

-

Using the proven Ground School in a Box™ methodology, our expert instructor will lead you through an interactive multimedia presentation. You will be encouraged and coached to follow along using a simulator or your own GPS receiver and the acclaimed The Savvy GPS Pilot's Workbook.

-

The Savvy GPS Pilot™ seminar is taught in three different settings.

No matter what form of training you choose, you will graduate as a confident savvy GPS pilot and will receive a completion certificate. Read what other students have said.

The Savvy GPS Pilot's Workbook includes a Quick Reference Sheet, listing of  key points, step-by-step procedures, and section reviews to keep track of your progress.
